The Sancerre region

The Sancerrois is a region of the former province of Berry located around the town of Sancerre. The region is bounded by Sologne to the north and Champagne Berry to the south; it is mainly characterized by its hills, its vineyard and the dung of Chavignol.

Located in Berry, Sancerre from its rocky peak at an altitude of 300m, dominates the splendid panorama of the Loire Valley. Sancerre is a city where life is good: the capital of two gastronomic products that meet the AOC label (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée), Vin de Sancerre and Le Crottin de Chavignol. These two major assets make it one of the most frequented tourist poles in the Center Region.
